Psychoeducational Assessments and Therapy
Concerns with school subjects, inability to keep up with the work, inattention and concentration difficulties, anxiety, social problems, neurodivergence, etc.
A psychoeducational assessment can include:
- Cognitive Assessment
- Educational Assessment
- Emotional Assessment
- Neurodevelopmental Assessment
The assessment process begins with an intake meeting with the parents and/or child, depending on the age to gather comprehensive background information and identify primary areas of concern. We can meet at my office, another location, or your home (travel fees may apply).
Optional interviews with the child’s teacher(s) are conducted to provide additional insight as well as classroom-based observations when it is deemed necessary and appropriate.
The child will participate in a series of standardized assessments and clinical activities tailored to the referral concerns. This in-person assessment typically involves several one-on-one sessions with the child lasting about 2 hours each.
Following the assessment, a detailed and comprehensive report is prepared with accommodations/support/recs for the education setting and/or at home.
Therapy:
As a school psychologist, I provide short-term counseling, social-emotional, and behavioral therapy support to help students manage challenges like anxiety, friendships, ADHD, anxiety, or self-confidence, etc. I may meet with children one-on-one, in small groups, offer play therapy, or work with teachers to create strategies that support the whole classroom. The goal is always to help children feel safe, confident, and ready to THRIVE.
Education:
I also offer parent sessions to help determine the best next steps to take for their child, to help educate parents on what their child may be experiencing, and how to best support them at home. Contact me for more info.
